The Numbers

Measured cargo-area dimensions for the 3rd-gen (2022–) Tundra CrewMax. Every gear-fit call on this page is computed from these.

Dimensions are approximate and sourced from measured references — verify against your exact model year and trim before purchasing gear. Payload includes passengers and accessories; check your door-jamb sticker.

What Actually Fits

A realistic overland load against the 3rd-gen CrewMax's 898 kg (1,980 lb) payload budget.

Sample overland build

The older Tundra has the wider bed — the newer one has the muscle. The 2nd-gen CrewMax is 1687 mm across where the current truck is 1491 mm, and its walls are deeper at 564 mm vs 531 mm. What the 3rd gen gains is payload: 898 kg against 708 kg, a 190 kg jump. With 1237 mm (48.7 in) of flat floor between the arches, either generation swallows a full drawer-and-fridge build — this is a bed where weight runs out before space does.

How much can a Toyota Tundra carry in the bed?

About 898 kg (1,980 lb) on the 3rd-gen CrewMax, up from about 708 kg (1,561 lb) on the 2nd gen — including passengers and accessories. Check the door-jamb sticker.

Will a fridge and drawer system fit?
