What Fits in a Toyota Tundra Bed?

The real bed dimensions, payload, and wheel-arch clearances for the current Toyota Tundra — and exactly what overland gear you can load. Below is a to-scale 3D model of the bed, built from measured data.

The Numbers

Measured cargo-area dimensions for the 3rd Gen · CrewMax (2022–). Every gear-fit call on this page is computed from these.

Dimensions are approximate and sourced from measured references — verify against your exact model year and trim before purchasing gear. Payload includes passengers and accessories; check your door-jamb sticker.

What Actually Fits

Payload isn't usually the limit — geometry is. Here's a realistic overland load against the 3rd Gen · CrewMax (2022–)'s 898 kg (1,980 lb) payload budget.

Sample overland build

The real constraint is width, not weight. The Tundra's flat floor is about 1237 mm (48.7 in) between the wheel arches and the arches rise ~220 mm (8.7 in) off the floor. Gear narrower than that stacks flat; anything wider has to sit above the arch line. That's the number that decides your build — and it's what the Kitchen Cube is engineered around.

    Algorithm Overland · Kitchen Cube

The Kitchen Cube is a modular, aircraft-grade aluminum kitchen system engineered to live in a truck bed and deploy on the tailgate — designed around exactly the flat-floor-and-wheel-arch geometry above.

It's built to sit on the usable floor between the arches and pack down for the trail. Fully modular, so it configures to beds like this one.

    Bed Fit FAQ

What are the Toyota Tundra bed dimensions?

The Toyota Tundra (3rd Gen · CrewMax (2022–)) measures about 1666 × 1491 × 531 mm (65.6 × 58.7 × 20.9 in), with roughly 1237 mm (48.7 in) of flat floor between the wheel arches. Figures are approximate — verify against your exact trim before buying gear.

How much can a Toyota Tundra carry in the bed?

Payload for the Toyota Tundra is about 898 kg (1,980 lb) — but that figure includes passengers and accessories, not just bed cargo. Budget conservatively and check the door-jamb sticker on your specific vehicle.

Will a fridge and drawer system fit in a Tundra bed?

Most 40–75L overland fridges (roughly 445–935 mm long) fit ahead of the wheel wells, and drawer systems up to about 1237 mm wide fit on the flat floor between the arches. The arches rise about 220 mm (8.7 in) off the floor. Anything wider than the floor must sit above that line.

Does the Kitchen Cube fit a Toyota Tundra?

The Kitchen Cube is a modular aluminum system designed to live in a truck bed and deploy on the tailgate. It is configured to work with beds like the Tundra's. Join the waitlist for exact fitment specs and early access.
